Did you watch the video?
You saw right…
I’m dressed like a zombie in a Michael Jackson Thriller Flash Mob in downtown Las Vegas.
Fun as hell?
But it wasn’t easy.
Getting into the habit of breaking out of my comfort zone took practice.
Anytime I’m going to do something new, maybe a little scary, my mind throws up all kinds of little objections to keep me safe and in my comfort zone.
Even something as simple as this Flash Mob my brain was like:
-I don’t want to get up early to go to these silly dance classes.
-It’s embarrassing trying to learn this.
-It’s not gonna be that much fun anyway.
-I don’t want to spend any money on this.
-I’ll just do it another time.
I have all kinds of rules, quotes & sayings to shut this life-limiting self talk down.
Here are a few:
- If I notice I’m scared of doing something that I want to do then I MAKE SURE I do it.
- I ask myself what would the hero in this movie do? Stay in bed? Or do some cool shit? Be the hero of your own story. Live a life you’re proud of.
- This quote is a reminder to myself. “How we spend our days, is of course, how we spend our lives.”
- Don’t put off for tomorrow, what can be done today.
When I think back over the year am I going to remember the times I decided to stay in bed and not be bothered with getting out of my comfort zone…
The time when I was doing tequila shots with a bunch of Zombies then breaking into a Thriller Flash Mob with a huge crowd cheering us on?
Dance time it is!
Now I can scratch
Flash Mob off my Stretch List.
(Ohhh & If you haven’t seen my Stretch List yet. Check it out here.)
Enough about me.
The new year is coming up.
And if getting back into the dating game &
having fun with some awesome women is on your list then…
Grab your crotch,
Moon walk all over those excuses,
& have some fun!
